[VIDEO] State of FCT High Courts appalling given available funding, whither the NBA?

Anonymous politician asks in viral video, describes as “shanti Court rooms”.

A Politician has lashed at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) for what he lamented as the deplorable state of infrastructure in courts particularly the poor filing system.

In a trending video sighted by ASKLEGALPALACE, the anonymous politician in a captured video of Court 5, Maitama Court Complex, Abuja decried that the filing system was not only poor but would result to improper record keeping. He questioned what the NBA was doing, saying what is the purpose of the bar-bench forum if in the end it results in what he describes as “shanti Court rooms”.

According to the politician, lawyers were only concerned with harassing politicians and not ensuring proper state of the court rooms, lamenting that justice cannot be gotten in such an environment.

He said: “Well unfortunately, I’m in court 5, Maitama Court complex, Abuja. Look out how they dumb files and this is very very poor compared to the amount of money that is given to the judiciary. Look at the seat; where is NBA, they said they have bar-bench forum? If it is harass politicians, this lawyers would be harassing me.

In recent times, there have been intense debate over the poor state of infrastructure in Nigerian courts as well as funding issues facing the judiciary.

In June, a controversial letter by 15 Justices of the Supreme Court to the former CJN, Tanko Mohammed unveiled to the public the daunting infrastructure and welfare challenges facing the Apex Court.

Several pundits have analysts have equally pushed for total financial autonomy for the judiciary to address the myriad of infrastructural drawbacks facing justice delivery in the country.
