Men of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two suspected car snatchers, Abiodun Nurudeen and Anthony Richard.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement on Wednesday, said the suspects were nabbed on Egbeda Road around 1.30am on Sunday, July 24.

He said this was shortly after they snatched a Toyota Corolla with the number plate LND-664-GF.

“The suspects, Abiodun Nurudeen, 36, and Anthony Richard, 45, were both released on May 5, 2022, and June 4, 2022, respectively, from the Ikoyi correctional facility. They were arrested following a tip-off from civic-minded members of the public.

“Preliminary investigation reveals that the vehicle was snatched around Lekki, Lagos State. While investigation is ongoing, the owner of the vehicle is hereby urged to come forward with proof of ownership to claim the vehicle. Suspects will be arraigned at the conclusion of investigation,” he added.
