FRSC, army collaborate on roads safety

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Nigerian Army (NA) have restated their commitment to ensuring safety on roads and reducing crashes.

The commitment was renewed during a study visit by Junior Course 1 Students of FRSC Command and Staff College, Udi, Enugu State to 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army Headquarters in Uyo, yesterday.

The Commandant, FRSC, Command and Staff College, Assistant Corps Marshall Chidibere Nkwonta, who said the tour theme is: ‘Cascading National Road Safety to Sub-national Levels’, lauded the army for maintaining healthy partnership with FRSC over the years, stressing that, there must be continuous collaboration to make the state and country safe for citizens.

He said: “We are very grateful for this grand reception and I am confident I can always trust the Nigerian Army because anytime they are called upon, they are there for us”, he said.

Earlier, the Commander, 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brig.-Gen. Abubakar Wase, thanked FRSC for their efforts at ensuring crash-free roads in the country.

He said Nigerian Army would continue to demonstrate good partnership with sister agencies across the country, with FRSC as one of them, assuring security agencies that the army would always respond when called upon.

On behalf of the students, Mr. Christopher Eya thanked the 2 Brigade for its warm reception, saying the gesture explained strong partnership existing among security agencies across the country.
