UMO Eno, a pastor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom State, has debunked certificate forgery allegation against him, describing it as “a dirty smear job, a utopian miscalculation and a political gimmick taken too far” by political opponent.
He made the denial through the Head of Media, Maintain Peace Movement and Umo Eno Campaigns, Mr. Anietie Usen, who spoke in a radio interview programme in Uyo.
Usen described Eno ‘as clean as a needle’ and described the allegation as not only ‘unfair and unkind’, but the handiwork of someone desperate to gain unfair advantage and bring down his opponent by all means.
He said: “The good news for me and all of us in Umo Eno team is that the burden and responsibility of proof is heavily on this gentleman accuser and I can assure Akwa Ibom people worldwide that there is absolutely no forgery to prove against Pastor Umo Eno.
“What I want to emphasise, which the public must note, is that the calculations of this politician-accuser is that if Pastor Umo Eno is eliminated from the race, he, the accuser, would coast home as the governorship candidate, since his three votes placed him second in that nomination race.”
In other words, this accusation is not made by a neutral person or in good faith, but by a fairytale opponent, who seeks to overcome his opponent by foul play.
