Participants at the Afrozons Dubai Soundoff and Expo 2020 have called on African leaders to prioritise security and infrastructure to attract investors and engender development.
They noted that most of the chief executives may have visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and felt the peace, security, as well as the sustainable infrastructure in place for progress.
The nationals, therefore, urged the leaders to emulate the Arabian government by transforming their natural resources for the good of all.
In a chat with The Guardian after the ‘AfroZonsDXB Desert Party,’ a Ugandan economist, Dr. Theofulous Sekito, stated: “The Afrozons is a good initiative, Dubai is a very peaceful place in the world.”
She went on: “I know most of our African leaders have been here. So, they know that peace, good infrastructure and security are key to development.”
Also, a Nigerian, Taiwo Ola, described the location as perfect, adding: “I have met a lot people from different African countries, but this is the time for Africans to be together because we have seen that other people have positioned us in a certain corner, and we have to do things differently now to prove so many people wrong.”
Besides, business mogul, Tonye Princewill, expressed the hope that the bond binding Africans with others would subsist.
