Oba Abdul-Wasiu Omogbolahan Lawal the new Oniru of Iruland

One of the aggrieved families in the Oniru ruling houses, the Omowunmi Abisogun royal family, has reiterated its commitment to join hands with the Oniru of Iruland Kingdom, Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, to give him the necessary support needed to succeed.

The royal family also urged the remaining members of the family that are still aggrieved to come forward, join and work together with them in supporting the monarch.

This, it said, would bring peace to the family and Iruland and its environs. The Omowunmi family of Abisogun ruling house also said that its family head is Alhaji Biliaminu Abisogun.

One of the family members, Lasun Alade, who spoke with newsmen, said that two out of the three principal actors in the suit challenging the emergence and enthronement of Oba Lawal had withdrawn from their representation in the suit. They are Alhaja Afusat Kabiawu and Prince Tunde Alade Dauda.

The family in a statement stated: “The Omowunmi-Abisogun royal family of Iru Kingdom hereby inform the family members, stakeholders and general public that the family has resolved at its general meeting on January 23, 2022 in Lagos that the family members should make peace with the royal father, the Oniru of Iru Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal Abisogun II, and recognise his ascension or occupation of the exalted stool of Iru Kingdom.

“The family also resolved that all pending litigations against the monarch be withdrawn immediately subject to the filing of terms of settlement in court.

“We, however, assure that we are still engaging the aggrieved family members with a view to helping them see reasons to join hands with his royal majesty for the progress and development of the Iru Kingdom.”

The family members, who further said that their attention was drawn to some publications in media that they are not authentic members of Omowunmi Abisogun family of Iru Kingdom, said: “We implore the public to disregard them as such publications were figment of their imagination.”

“There are, however, avenues to seek redress if they feel strongly about the statement rather than engaging in cheap propaganda.
