The immediate past Assistant Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, Calabar banch, Daniel Kip has extended his sympathy to the Lagos Campus of the Nigerian Law School over the recent fire incident which razed part of the campus, causing injuries to about five students.

In a statement obtained by ASKLEGALPALACE, Mr. Kip expressed his shock at the incident and commiserated with those affected, prating for speedy recovering for the injured students.

The statement reads;

“The news of the fire outbreak in the Lagos Campus of the Nigerian Law School and the attendant casualties got to my knowledge in the later hours of Thursday, 17th February, 2022.

I cannot but imagine the pain, shock, trauma, etc., experienced by the affected Law Students who are even faced with the uphill task of covering their curriculum and facing the almighty Bar Finals.

I was at the Lagos Campus of the Nigerin Law School within 2011 to 2012. I understand first hand what my colleagues in equity are going through, and the advantages they have.

I therefore identify and sympathise with all Law Students of the Lagos Campus of the Nigerian Law School and the Administration of the Law School. I trust and pray that this experience will quickly be erased from your mind and so focus returns. I also wish all those who sustained one injury or the other, speedy healing and recovery.

I charge the leadership of the Nigerian Law School to focus and do more about the welfare, safety, wellbeing and security of students in the various campuses of the Nigerian Law School.”
