The Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Dr Wale Ahmed, has advised the new Ologudu of Ogudu, Oba Najimdeen Fashola, to ensure peace and development in his community.
Speaking during the presentation of staff of office to Fashola, Ahmed encouraged him to ensure members of the community live in peace.
He said, “We want to congratulate you but I charge you to maintain peace and order in the Ogudu community. Ensure there is tranquillity, love, and oneness among the people. This is because if there is peace in the community, it will extend to the state and when there is peace, there will be peace and progress.
“Let the people have trust in you through your activities, be honest and truthful at all times.”
Responding, Fashola promised to abide by the rules and law of the land, saying he would cooperate with other monarchs in the community to ensure peace.
Fashola said, “As for our people, there is nothing we can do than to tolerate ourselves, nobody is perfect, we have to work towards ensuring peace at all times so that we can get to the highest level in life.
“I will ensure peace is maintained in the community, this I have been doing for the past one-and-half years. I want our people to feel free to come to me if there is anything they want to talk about.
“I believe, with the help of God, our community will witness great development and tranquillity. ”
