The Iposu chieftancy family in Epe Division of Lagos State has commended the police for displaying professionalism in restoring the family land at the T-Junction in Epe to the rightful owner. The Iposu family gave the commendation in a statement issued at the weekend by its spokesman, Sharafadeen Iposu.
Iposu said the family was impressed with the high level of professionalism displayed by the police, particularly the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, for upholding the rule of law and by taking proactive measures.
“We thank the Inspector General of Police for his firmness, leadership quality, and objectivity toward discharging his duties diligently in upholding rule of law,” he said.
According to Iposu, the land was erroneously locked up by the police due to misleading information to the Force C. I. D, Abuja that there would be a breakdown of peace and order if the land was released to the rightful owner.
He said that Justice Olaitan Sharafa of the High Court sitting in Epe, had earlier ruled against an application for an interlocutory injunction to prevent the Iposu family from entering their land pending the matter in court.
“We want to commend the IGP and his team for their sincere efforts toward upholding the rule of law.
“We appeal to the police to sustain this operational strategy and fairness in discharging its lawful duties. This is exemplary,” Iposu said.
