The Managing Associate, SRJ Legal, Mr. Osita Enwe, has stressed the need for adoption of partnership model in running law firms. The senior lawyer said law firms evolving into partnership would guarantee longevity and sustainability, even long after the founders had gone.
He said: “Nigeria’s legal service is becoming more challenging as big law firms aggressively seek involvement with leading international law firms. Law firm ranking is globally becoming more dynamic.
“Lawyers must specialise and firms that recognise this, must seek to appoint lawyers who are thought leaders as partners – it is no longer enough to just name partners.
“Lawyers who are potential thought leaders ought to be encouraged. NBA’s drive for a more competent and knowledgeable members of its association is commendable.”
Enwe, who on behalf of SRJ Legal, announced that Emmanuel Urama has joined its commercial dispute practice group as a senior associate, said the lawyer is highly equipped for the task.
Urama, he said, has considerable experience in commercial litigation and arbitration, real estate, construction law, medical law disputes and election petition litigation from years of practice experience in the law firm of Chief Enechi Onyia (SAN).
“He will continue to represent SRJ’s clients across all hierarchies of the Nigerian courts and other dispute resolution windows.
“SRJ is not an every day small law firm. Its lawyers, who are constantly trained,
are involved and passionate about their profession. At SRJ, we strive to render to our clients personalised legal services in a manner comparable to big law firms,” he declared.
