The Justice Innocent Umezulike Foundation has awarded a full tuition and maintenance fees scholarship to Mr. Obiorah Chibuzor Victor, an exceptionally brilliant law student of the University of Nigeria (UNEC), Enugu Campus.
Yearly, the foundation awards full law degree scholarships to deserving undergraduate students who are passionate about Law to aid their academic development from undergraduate to postgraduate degree level. Victor emerged the beneficiary at the 2022 award ceremony held recently at the Hon. Umezulike Law Library and Legal Research Centre in Enugu State.
The foundation’s Board of Trustees explained that the scholarship award selection process was arduous, adding that the board’s final decision rested on a multifaceted combination of Victor’s academic excellence, grit, determination to succeed against all odds and persistence in the face of adversity and passion to practice. In her remark, the Foundation Co-Chair, Dr. Cynthia Umezulike, affirmed the foundation’s obligation to ensure that Obiorah and other awardees succeed personally and professionally.
In his speech, Victor, who was filled with excitement and appreciation, said: “The foundation has impacted my academics positively by awarding me with the grant to fund my school fees and accommodation. I’m also grateful for the academic books I received. They are a terrific piece of literature written by His Lordship, Justice Umezulike, OFR.” The awardee also serves as a student judge of the LAWSA High Court, University of Nigeria Law Faculty and the editor, Barrister Magazine.
