Igbokwe SAN emerges Chairman of MidWest Bar Forum

Lawyers under the Midwest Bar Forum have successfully elected a

new leadership to pilot the affairs of the forum.

The recently conducted elections which heralded the new leadership was held at the Hearing Room of the Delta State House of Assembly, Asaba.

After the casting and collation of votes, George Chiedun Igbokwe SAN, a former National Financial Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association was declared winner and Chairman-Elect.

Other Executives elected include Princess P.I Iyomoh (former Chairman, NBA Benin Branch) who was elected 1st Vice Chairman, I.C.E Okugbo was

elected 2nd Vice chairman while Sunny Ogheneghare Bobbi was elected General Secretary.Others are Ivie Elema, Financial Secretary, Promise Ademi-Akpeto, Treasurer, and Forces Agheghe, Welfare Secretary.

In his vote of thanks, the outgone Chairman, Chike Onyemenam SAN thanked every one present for coming and keeping faith with the forum despite some initial issues that arose .He reiterated that the Midwest Bar is one

and asked that there be a United Front in pushing for the common agenda of the Forum.

In his inaugural speech , Chief G.C. Igbokwe SAN thanked members reposing confidence in him to lead and he stretched out

a hand of fellowship to any aggrieved person saying his posture in the running of the Association is reconciliatory.

The Ceremony came to a height when the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, A.P.A. Ogegere conducted elections to the positions contested unopposed.He then presented Winners certificate of return while the current 1st Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association, John O. Aikpokpo-Martins administered the Oath Office to the new leaders.The occasion had The Attorney General of Delta State represented by the Solicitor General of Delta State ,serving and current Chairmen of the Nigerian

Bar Association present and some former national officers of the NBA.

The Midwest Bar Forum an entire that is an agglomeration of the 14 Branches of the Nigerian Bar

Association (NBA) in Edo &

Delta States.
