Insecurity: Seek foreign aid, address infrastructure decay, cleric tells Federal Govt

The Spiritual Head of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Prophet Samuel Adefila, has called on the Federal Government to seek foreign assistance to wage total war against bandits.

The cleric also charged the government to fix the decayed infrastructure in the country and tackle the rising cost of food and essential materials which, he noted, are causing moral decadence among the people.

Speaking with journalists on the background of the 81st international conference/convention of the church at Galilee land, Orile Igbon, Ilorin/Ogbomoso Expressway on Thursday, the cleric also advised government to smoke out the terrorists from their hideouts and get rid of them in accordance with the law of the land.

Abidoye, who is also the chairman of the church, said there was nothing shameful seeking foreign assistance or collaboration towards stopping the wanton killings.

He said, “Nigerians now find it difficult to travel at their conveniences. We can no longer sleep with our two eyes closed; there is fear to go to our various offices and other businesses just because of the fear of the terrorists.

“Governments, especially federal, have had enough dialogues with our traditional rulers, religious leaders, security agencies and other stakeholders. This is the time for real action towards smoking out these terrorists from their various hideouts.”

The cleric asked the government to prosecute arrested bandits so as to serve as deterrent to other criminals.

Talking on the one-week 81st international conference/convention of the church, he said the ceremony included ordination of about 500 male members of the church to the rank of Special Apostles.
