An early morning fire has reportedly destroyed property worth millions of naira at Itobe Market in the Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

A local radio station monitored by our correspondent in Lokoja on Saturday disclosed this in its bulletin.The fire was said to have started when a trader’s generator caught fire thereby engulfing all the shops within the vicinity.

Although no life was lost in the inferno, it was also said to have destroyed the property therein.

The Onu Itobe, Alhaji Salihu Adaji, while reacting to the disaster lamented that the incident had thrown many businessmen in his domain to the labour market.

Adaji also urged people in authority to assist those affected by the fire disaster with capital to restart their businesses.
