Lagos: Man Arraigned For Stealing College Amplifiers

Twenty-one-year-old Chidiebere Emenike has been arraigned in an Ebute Metta Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos for allegedly stealing five amplifiers from a school.

The defendant was arraigned on two counts of stealing and conspiracy but pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Inspector Kehinde Olatunde, told the court that the defendant had committed the offences on September 11, 2021 at Bangrayon School, No. 72, Moor Street, Ebute Meta West, Lagos.

“The defendant had stolen five amplifiers valued at N5m belonging to a school.

“The alleged offences contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015,” Olatunde said.

The Chief Magistrate, A.O. Oshoniyi, then granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The magistrate adjourned the case till October 12, 2021 for mention.
