Downpour sacks Edo pupils from school

PUPILS of Arosa Primary School, Sakponba Road, Oredo LGA of Edo State were on Monday morning unable to resume studies as their school was taken over by flood.

The pupils who started arriving at the school as early as 7 am were surprised by the flood occasioned by an all-night downpour, which made accessing the school premises very difficult.

One of the parents, Osarodion Ezekiel, who brought his child to school, said, “Whenever it rains, I fear for these children because all these places are always flooded. The government should do something about this school. Look at these children; I pray none of them dies here.

“You know the problem with our government is that their children don’t attend government schools; so, whatever happens to the children in government schools is not their problem.”
