Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, yesterday, warned erring contractors handling the phase two of the Sangotedo housing project to ensure an appreciable improvement in the level of works in the next one-week or have their contracts terminated.
Sanwo-Olu, who stated this when he inspected the 444 flats housing project, yesterday, directed the contractors to speed up work or lose their contracts.
He added that the project would be inspected in the next one week to see the level of works after which recalcitrant contractors would have their contracts revoked even as they would face prosecution.
Sanwo-Olu, who commended contractors who had shown commitment to the project, said the housing project was in two phases, revealing that the first phase was about 90 per cent completed.
He implored the contractors handling the second phase to complete it within next nine months so the government could hand it over to beneficiaries.
Present at the inspection were Commissioners for Housing, Fatai Akinderu; Physical Planning and Urban Development, Idris Salako and Special Adviser on Works and Infrastructure, Aramide Adeyoye, among others.
