Body of Benchers has appointed former General Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, and former Chairman Nigerian Bar Association Section On Business Law (NBA- SBL) George Etomi, Esq, as Life Benchers.

The Chief Judge of Bauchi State, Hon. Justice Rabi Umar, Chief Judge of Kano State, Hon Justice Nura S. Umar, President Justice, Court of Appeal Enugu, Hon Justice Ahmad Belgore, Hon. Attorney General, Enugu State, Chief Miletus Eze and Attorney General Katsina State, Ahmed Usman El- Marzuq, Esq were also appointed as Life Benchers.

The appointment is in line with the mandate given to it by the Body, the Committee received the list of Benchers eligible for appointment as life Benchers having fulfilled all requirements for the appointment. The appointment was after careful consideration by the Committee. That Abia State former Attorney General, Awa Uma Kalu, SAN, Retired Justice of the Court of Appeal and former Attorney General of Anambra State, Hon Justice Chinwe Eugenia Iyizoba, Chief Judge of Enugu State, Hon Justice Ngozi Priscilla Emehelu, Mfom Usoro, and Immediate past Chief Judge Rivers State, Hon Justice Adama Iye Iyayi-Lamikanra, were on the proposed list deliberated by the Committee for the appointment as Honorary Benchers.
