All is set for the 15th edition of the Abuja International Housing Show (AIHS), which is billed to commence today at the Federal Capital Territory.
The four-day event will attract the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Mohammed Bello, Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola and Minister of Environment, Dr. Mohammad Abubakar.
Other dignitaries include Ghana’s Minister of State for Works and Housing, Frida Prempeh, and Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, who will receive an award for performance.
The conference, which is the gathering of high profile professionals, estate developers and business owners, will give opportunity to discuss challenges facing the global built sector and the way forward.
According to the convener, Festus Adebayo, the event is expecting over 15,000 participants; among them are 200 chief executive officers in the real estate, mortgage institutions, construction companies and professional bodies.
“The show will help to stimulate the building and construction industry, in terms of design-led housing solutions, quality home-grown materials and products.”
Explaining further, the AIHS Coordinator, said: “Over a decade ago, we have grown to become the largest housing and construction exhibition on the African continent and attracting participation of critical stakeholders from different parts of the world.”
He emphasised that the forum would bring together specialised indigenous and foreign manufacturers of building materials and equipment, world class interior decorators, genuine state-of-the art estate developers, architectural and construction giants.
According to him, “the forum will equally provide avenue for meeting counterparts from every part of the country and outside the country on networking business relations.
“With an ever changing world, it is indeed very timely to have all these top leaders converge for the sake of advancement. Various ideas and experiences from several places will greatly benefit the participants in forging more adaptable and effective models of operation.”
The event will showcase of innovative developments in the housing industry, paper presentations from experts and leading names in the industry.
In addition, renowned experts will provide housing market forecasts and examine issues such as employment, home prices, production, demand and supply.
