“TRIBUTE TO JOHNNIE EGWUONWU, SAN
“My dear Johnnie Egwuonwu, SAN, it was with sadness but with total submission to the will of God that I received the news of your transition to eternal glory on 16th July, 2021 after a brief illness.
“As the former Head of Chambers of our firm, you were tolerant, patient, easy-going, focused, humble, and kind-hearted. Despite your call to Bar in 1979, about 7 years before me, you agreed to work under me. You worked so hard and distinguished yourself in legal practice which earned you the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). You represented us as a worthy ambassador while with us and even after you left to continue with your own firm, you remained supportive and part of us.” the tribute read in part.
Gadzama further expressed belief that the deceased is with the Lord. That they will miss him.
He stated, “We love you dearly and we know that you are in a better place. You have left this world to be with our Lord Jesus Christ.
“You will surely be missed but we are consoled by the legacies you left behind. I am happy you have a worthy son – Ifeanyi Egwuonwu, Esq. – whom I can attest to his capability having been with us briefly in our firm for mentorship while you were still with us.
“I pray that all the beautiful memories of you add comfort and warmth in the hearts of all of us you have left behind.
“May your gentle soul rest in peace.”
