• Clerics, others task Oniru on service, humility, transparency Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, yesterday, pledged the administration’s commitment to full implementation of Iru-Victoria Island and Lagos masterplan, saying that the axis is too critical to the economic prosperity of the state.
Sanwo-Olu, who spoke at the first coronation anniversary of Oba Gbolahan Lawal (Abisogun Il) as the 15th Oniru of Iruland, said he was proud of the achievement of the monarch in the last one year of his ascension to the throne of his forebears, adding that more infrastructural and economic development had taken place under his kingdom.
The governor also said that more roads and other infrastructure would be executed in the axis, urging the monarch to partner with the state government on the urban and regional regeneration of the Iruland to expedite the actualisation of the greater Lagos agenda.
He said the people of Iru kingdom was lucky to have the calibre of the Oniru, who is internationally acknowledged as a cerebral scholar as their king.
The governor also urged the people of Iru Kingdom to support the monarch with prayers for him to excel and bring progress to the people, charging them to embrace local and foreign investors.
On their part, the National Missioner Ansar-UD-Deen Society, Sheikh Abdul Rahaman Ahmad and Pastor, Trinity House Church, Ituah Ighodalo, urged the monarch to always make himself accessible to his subjects. They said that the monarch would be able to make more impact on the lives of the people of the kingdom if they have access to him.
