A 30-year-old father of three, John Samuel, yesterday, stabbed a 57-year-old Yaji Lawal to death for allegedly sleeping with his wife.
John, a resident of Bandasarga village in Ganye Local Government Area of Adamawa State, on Sunday, returned home at around 11:30pm to meet Yaji of a nearby Bakari Guso village in his house.
“He suspected the visitor came to have affairs with his wife,” a police source said.
Further investigation disclosed that John immediately attacked Yaji and stabbed him to death with a knife. “He left him in a pool of his blood,” police spokesman, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said.
The victim was said to have been rushed to hospital where he was confirmed dead. Policemen from Ganye division were invited to arrest John.
The Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Adamu Alhaji, while appealing for calm, commended DPO Ganye and his operatives and directed further investigations into the case.
The CP directed Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), to take over the investigation.
