The General Manager of the company, Mrs Ofure Oseni, has also called on the government to help remove all bottlenecks affecting the acquisition of property documents such as Certificate of Occupancy.
Oseni said this in her speech on Friday at the official launching of the Mowe, Ogun State-based Sapphire Courts held at the company’s head office in Opebi, Lagos.
She said, “On a daily basis, housing deficit increases. As you go to courts, new marriages are being contracted and new babies are born every day. So the need for more houses increases.
“We understand that government alone cannot fix the housing deficit and that is why a private company like Meritabode will have to help bridge the gap.
“So what is expected of the government is to help ease the problem as regarding C of O. There are lots of bottlenecks and if they are removed, it will make property acquisition cheaper. “
According to the Sales Manager, Meritabode, Mr Victor Igbenova, since the Federal Government has the plan to establish a gold refinery in Mowe, the company has seen the need for the scheme because there will be rental demand for housing in Mowe.
He said Sapphire Courts would deliver 200 housing units of affordable luxury in 24 months. He enjoined Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to subscribe while the promo lasted as the first 50 subscribers would win a plot of land each in any of the company’s estates.
According to him, Sapphire Courts is sitting on 20 acres of C of O land, comprising 200 units of two and three bedroom semi-detached bungalows.
As an affordable luxury apartment, it will provide essential amenities such as good road network, recreational park, good drainage system, security, water supply and solar light system, she said.
