The duo female legal practitioners, Adaobi Emeka [37] and Nkiru Nwayanwu [40], have been arraigned at the Ojo Magisterium in Lagos State, by the Lagos State Police Command, for fight over a client within the court premises.

According to Supol Simon Uche, the prosecutor, the duo committed the offence on the 16th day of March, 2021, after an altercation on who should offer her complimentary card to the suspect who seemed to have come to court without a legal representative.

He further noted that, the altercation, led to loud shouting within the court premises, and generated unnecessary attention and crowd.

The altercation was most surprising as one of the defendant, Mrs. Adaobi Emeka is heavy with child.

A plea of not guilty was however made by the duo when the charge was read to them before His Worship, Mr. A.A. Adesanya. His Worship thereafter granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 each with sureties.

The sureties according to the court must be blood relations of the defendants or at least a member of the clergy.

Also, the court ordered the dou to, as part of their bail conditions, produce a letter of good standing from their respective NBA branches.
