Former Imo State Governor, Dr. Ikedi Ohakim’s Legal Counsel, Chief Aloy Ejimakor, has debunked an online report that the ex-governor will tomorrow be arraigned by the office of the Inspector-general of Police (IGP) over alleged harassment of one Chinyere Amuchinwa.
According to the report, the former governor is to be arraigned alongside one Chinedu Okpareke before Federal High Court Judge, Taiwo Taiwo on a five-count charge bordering on cybercrime and that Okpareke was earlier arrested and detained in connection with the alleged offences, but was released on fulfilment of his bail conditions.

Reacting to the report, Ejimakor in a release made available to newsmen yesterday, said the news of Ohakim’s arraignment is false.

He said: “Our attention has been drawn to a coordinated, sensational and false publications in sections of the media, purporting that the Inspector-General of Police will arraign our client (Dr. Ohakim) before the Federal High Court, Abuja on Monday, the 15th February 2021.

“We go on record to state that the so-called charges they are circulating in the media are trumped-up, as they were neither served on Ohakim, nor any hearing notice served in regard to any arraignment. The calculated leakage of these spurious charges to the media appears to be deliberately aimed at further injuring his reputation.”
