Court Remands Two Suspects For Allegedly Gang R*ping, Filming 19 Yr Old Girl
A Magistrate Court sitting in Ota, Ogun State on Wednesday, remanded two friends Oluwadamilare Oyeniyi and Okoriji Emmanuel, in a correctional centre for allegedly gang-raping and filming a 19-year-old girl.

Shotunde Shotayo made this order following the suit MOT/001/2021 filed by the State Counsel, Oluwole Ayede, praying that the suspects be kept in remand for 60 days pending issuance of legal advice.

Oluwadamilare Oyeniyi and Okoriji Emmanuel were accused of conspiracy and rape.

The state counsel also alleged that Oyeniyi and Emmanuel were caught making a video recording of their crime and that the offence, contravenes the provisions of sections 358 and 516 of Vol.1 Criminal Code Vol.1, Laws of Ogun, 2006.

The learned Magistrate Shotayo granting the order held: “I have listened to the Application as moved by the senior State Counsel, gone through the 11 paragraph affidavit in support and annexed exhibits A, B, C, I see no reason why the prayer should not be acceded to punctuality with deference to the facts in paragraph 4,5,6,and 7.

“Accordingly the 1st and 2nd Defendants are to be remanded for 60 days at the instance pending the issuance of the legal advice; at the correctional Centre, Abeokuta, Ogun State.”

The case was adjourned to 5th March 2021 for mention.
