NBA Condemns Murder Of Oleh 12: Charges NPF To Expedite Conclusive Investigation
The leadership of the Oleh branch of the Nigerian Bar Association has condemned the gruesome murder of 12 Oleh community of Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State.

In a communiqué issued by the Branch at the end of a critical emergency meeting held on the 15th of November, 2020, at Emevor in Isoko North Local Government Area to brainstorm on the unfortunate incident, the branch which jurisdiction covers Isoko South and North, Ndokwa West and Ndokwa East Local Government Areas commended traditional rulers, youths and leadership of Oleh community for their patience in the face of provocation and not taking the laws into their hands.

The meeting, attended by Assistant Inspector General of Police (rtd) Felix Onowo Ogbaudu , President of Area Customary Court Miakpo Emiaso (rtd), former Registrar Delta State University Abraka, Sir Joseph Ubogo, pioneer chairman of Abuja branch of the Nigerian Bar Association Chief Uye Ogedegbe, critical stakeholders and members of the Executive Committee of Oleh branch was to brainstorm on the unfortunate incidence and proffer solution.

The branch lauded the State Government, security agencies, leadership of Oleh and Ozoro communities and those of Isoko Development Union (IDU) for their continuing efforts at resolving the crisis and bringing peace to the communities.

They challenged the security agencies, particularly the Nigeria Police Force, involved in the investigations of the case to expedite actions and come up with comprehensive report on the outcome of their investigations.

” We as a Bar insist that the culprits must speedily be brought to book under the laws of this country so that justice can be served without delay. This is the minimum demand to assuage and pacify the frayed nerves of victims and prevent reprisal actions by aggrieved party.” the communiqué stressed.

The NBA urged both communities to give maximum support to security agencies engaged in the investigations by volunteering every useful information, even as it appealed to them to embrace peace instead of war, noting that both communities were also inhabited by non-indigenes with investments which will be affected in the event of eruption of mayhem.
