Two High court staff arraigned for stealing typing sheets
Two staff members of the Osun State High Court were on Monday arraigned for allegedly stealing typing sheets belonging to the Judiciary.

Adedoyin Adebowale, 46 and Sulaiman Tajudeen, 46, were dragged to an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court over two-count charges of conspiracy and stealing.

They were accused of committing the offence on November 20, 2020, at the High court premises, Oke-Fia Osogbo.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Adeoye Kayode told the Magistrate Court that the defendants did conspire among themselves to steal six-packs of Typing Sheets valued at N30,000, property of the Osun State Judiciary.

Adeoye noted that the offence committed contravened section 516 and 383 punishable under section 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol ll Law of Osun state 2002.

The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the allegations preferred against them.

Defence Counsel, Taiwo Awokunle made an oral application for the bail of the defendants in the most liberal terms.

He said that being staff of the state judiciary, they will never jump bail and that they have reliable sureties if granted bail.

Magistrate Adijat Oloyade granted bail to the defendants in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the matter till January 7, 2021, for hearing.
