A group of Ondo State indigenes, under the aegis of Ekimogun Roundtable, on Sunday hailed the decision of the National Judicial Council to elevate Justice Morenikeji Ogunwumiju to the Supreme Court.

Ogunwumiju was one of eight justices whose elevation was recently confirmed by the Senate.

This was contained in a statement jointly signed by the group’s Secretary General, Mr. Omoniyi Akingunola and Executive Secretary, Mr Olusola Akinbinu.

The group said, “This feat cannot be achieved by brilliance alone. It is a product of trust carefully won from society in over 40 years of consistent, dexterous service to the nation. She has always impacted substantively at every responsibility.

“Ogunwumiju’s innovative contributions to addressing pressing issues in the Nigerian justice system has been remarkable.”
