Akpata constitutes new 7-man caretaker committee for NBA Abeokuta Branch
The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr. Olumide Akpata has set up a new Caretaker Committee for the NBA Abeokuta Branch, naming Prince P.A Adesemowo, ESQ as the Chairman.

This is contained in a circular issued by the NBA Publicity Secretary which was disclosed to ASKLEGALPALACE correspondent.

The statement reads:

NBA PRESIDENT SETS UP NEW CARETAKER COMMITTEE FOR NBA ABEOKUTA BRANCH

Dear Colleagues,

The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr. Olumide Akpata has set up a new Caretaker Committee for the NBA Abeokuta Branch to manage the affairs of the Branch in the interim and organise Branch election in accordance with Article 11 of the Uniform Bye-Laws for Branches contained in the 3rd Schedule to the NBA Constitution 2015 (as amended). This follows the expiration of the tenure of the Caretaker Committe set up by the Paul Usoro, SAN led administration.

The new Caretaker Committee comprises of the following persons:

1. Prince P. A. Adesemowo Esq – Chairman

2. Chief S. A. Akinbami

3. P C Iwu Esq

4. Dr. Olumide Ayeni

5. Mrs Feyi Bolarinwa-Adebowale

6. Mr. Babatunde Oyefule

7. Mrs. Tayo Sobukola – Secretary

The NBA President expresses his profound gratitude to the outgone Caretaker Committee for managing the affairs of the Branch to the best of their abilities and appreciates their efforts and selfless service to the Bar.

The tenure of the current Caretaker Committee shall be three months, commencing on 26th October 2020 and ending 25th January 2021, within which time the Committee is expected to conduct elections into the various Branch offices and handover to the elected officers.

The NBA President calls on all members of the Association and especially members of NBA Abeokuta Branch to cooperate with the Caretaker Committee to ensure the smooth execution of this critical assignment and an amicable resolution of all outstanding issues.
