The Prison Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Nasarawa State chapter, has called on Nigerians to stop stigmatising ex-inmates.
The state Chairman of the group, Ajibola Simeon, made the appeal during a rally in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, on Sunday.
The members of the PFN, who converged on the headquarters of the correctional service in Nasarawa at 10.30am, passed through the federal highway along Jos and Makurdi, before ending the rally at the Lafia metropolitan roundabout around 1.50pm.
Simeon said the organisation, had the mandate of reaching out to inmates in various correctional centres across the nation.
According to him, any time ex-inmates are badly treated and rejected by society, they are forced to go back to crime, which ultimately results in their return to prison.
