An ex-convict, Oluseyi Lamoriu, was on Wednesday sentenced to seven year’s imprisonment by the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja for forgery.
Lamoriu was convicted of the eight counts bordering on forgery and possession of fraudulent documents preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The EFCC had alleged that on August 22, 2017, Lamoriu forged an Ecobank of Nigeria statement of account number 2852009964 with the account name, Adewale Kudirat, purported to have emanated from the bank.

It was gathered that a forged First Bank of Nigeria statement of account number 3062000183 with the account name, Ajibode Olusola, purported to have emanated from Ecobank was also found in his possession.

The convict was also sad to have forged a Benue State University certificate and a West African Senior School certificate with the name, Shonubi Olasunbo.

Delivering her judgement on Tuesday, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, held that Lamoriu, who had been convicted before by Justice Mojisola Dada on similar charges, seemed not to have learnt his lessons and sentenced him to seven years’ imprisonment without an option of fine.
