The police on Thursday in Ikeja arraigned three men who allegedly belonged to a secret cult known as Klensman confraternity.
Rasheed Jamiu, 29; Nsikan Eking, 25, and Olaitan Ismail, 25, were charged with conspiracy and membership of unlawful society before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.
The defendants, who have no fixed address, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Ishola Samuel said that the defendants committed the offences on Aug. 3, 2018, at Agric areas of Ikorodu, Lagos.
Samuel said that the defendants were arrested by policemen while fighting.
According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene Sections 42 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Magistrate A.I. Abina gave the defendants bail of N200,000 each with one surety each in like sum.
Abina said that the surety should be gainfully employed and possess evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
She adjourned the case until Sept. 4 for mention.
