Lagos State Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Funlola Odunlami, has called on the residents to comply with existing laws of the state.
The call was renewed in reaction to a national newspaper publication alleging that innocent citizens were being jailed in the state. While acknowledging that the state was not averse to public criticism, she, however, maintained that government had the mandate to perform.
“Criticism serves as evaluation mechanism through which we fine-tune and improve on our service delivery to members of the public,” she added.
The statement justified the establishment of the Special Offences Court in the state.
