A man, who just finished his National Youth Service Corps programme, has allegedly stabbed his brother to death in Anambra State.

The 28-year-old graduate of law, Victor Ohale, it was gathered, allegedly stabbed his kid brother, Kelechi, in the head with a knife.

Kelechi, it was learnt, died on his way to hospital.

The incident happened at No. 8 Oraeri Street, GRA, Awka, the state capital.

The cause of the feud between the siblings had not been ascertained as of press time.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident.

He said the incident happened on Tuesday around 4am, adding that the suspect and the deceased hailed from Owerri, Imo State.

While confirming that the police had arrested the suspect, Mohammed said, “Five knives used in perpetrating the crime were recovered from the suspect.

“Around 4am, police detectives attached to the ‘B’ Division, Awka, arrested one Victor Ohale, 28, of No. 8 Oraeri Street, GRA, Agu Awka. The suspect allegedly used knives to stab his kid brother in his head, one Kelechi Ohale, 19, of the same address, but both hail from Emekuku in the Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State.

“The scene was visited by police detectives and the victim was rushed to the Amaku Teaching Hospital, Awka, where he was certified dead on arrival by the medical doctor and the corpse deposited in the hospital’s morgue for autopsy.

“The suspect, who is a law graduate from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, recently returned from the NYSC programme in Owerri, Imo State.”

The PPRO added that the incident was under investigation after which the suspect would be charged to court.
