Lawmakers: Wuse emerges Speaker of Niger Assembly
Mr. Abdullahi Bawa Wuse, a first-term lawmaker has emerged the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly.
Wuse, who represents Tafa constituency was nominated by the immediate past speaker, Ahmed Marafa.

Wuse was born in 1963 in Sabon Wuse and is a legal practitioner.

He was also a former Chairman of Tafa Local Government Council and a former commissioner for Justice and Attorney General in the administration of former Governor Babangida Aliyu.

The new speaker was a former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, but decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress and contested under its platform for the Tafa constituency seat in the March 2019 Governorship/ Assembly elections.

Also, the member representing Bida I, Bako Kassim Alfa was elected deputy speaker.

Alfa is a second-term member who was born in 1960.

Both Speaker and Deputy were sworn in by the Clerk of the Assembly, Abdullahi Mohammed Kagara.

In his acceptance speech, Wuse promised to carry out his duties in accordance with the law.
