Mrs. Theresa Ibas, Wife of Chief of Naval Staff and President, Naval Officers Wives’ Association, has charged navy officers to write their wills and always check their health status.
Ibas made the call while speaking to journalists at a one-day seminar on “Health and the Importance of Making a Will’’ on Monday in Lagos.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the seminar was part of the activities lined up to mark the 63rd anniversary of the Nigerian Navy.
Ibas said, “Without health, you cannot live long, so you need to take care of your health.
“If you want to live long and take care of your responsibility, then you have to take care of your health.
“When death comes because it is inevitable, the woman who is left behind to cater for the children finds it difficult to cope with the problems left behind.
“So, I will advise everybody to write a will because that will help. Nobody prays for death but it can come anytime.”
Earlier in her welcome address, she said that NOWA was committed to actively raising the quality of life of the naval family as well as strengthening family ties.(NAN)
