The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday dismissed report of fresh probe of Senate President Bukola Saraki.
Acting spokesman of the anti-graft agency, Tony Orilade, in a statement yesterday in Abuja, made the clarification following a trending report insinuating that the nation’s number three citizen was being freshly investigated over his stewardship as Kwara governor between 2003 and 2011.
Describing the news as a “deliberate falsehood”, the commission pointed that it creates the impression that the ex-governor was being hounded in the wake of his recent appointment as Ambassador-at-large by the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) whereas he has long been under investigation.
