Court denies PDP campaign spokesman bail in Kaduna
Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna State, yesterday, refused the bail application sought by the spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Organisation in the state, Ben Bako, who was arrested for allegedly making inciting speeches at a campaign rally.

The judge, Justice Peter Manloung, however, gave a transfer order on the case between the Department of State Security (DSS) and the spokesman of the PDP Campaign Organisation in Kaduna State, just as he directed the case to the Chief Judge, Federal High Court, Abuja.

Bako, who was arrested by operatives of the DSS in Kaduna for allegedly inciting the public at a rally in Kafanchan, has been in detention in one of the directorate’s facility in Abuja.

He had, through his lawyers, applied to be released on bail based on alleged breach of his fundamental human right pending commencement of hearing on the matter.

Counsel to the PDP spokesman, Baba Aliyu, who listed the grounds upon which reliefs were sought, said that “right to personal liberty is a non-negotiable.”
