A former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), will today (Thursday) speak on Nigeria’s democratic process and electoral law at St. Anthony’s College, Oxford University, United Kingdom.
Olanipekun, according to a statement, is scheduled to deliver a keynote address, titled, “Electoral law, election petitions and the future of democracy in Nigeria,” at the English institution’s workshop on “Nigeria in Transition.”
“The African Studies Centre and the Oxford Martin School, University of Oxford, UK organised the workshop. Scholars, technocrats and others from Nigeria, the UK and North America are also expected to present papers at the workshop,” the statement said.
It said the workshop would speak to questions around Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections in Nigeria, with particular focus on the economy.
