Residents homeowners sue Lekki Gardens over estate layout, court hearing begins Jan 8 |
Court hearing will commence on January 8 in the suit filed by 20 homeowners against the Chairman of Lekki Gardens, Richard Nyong, and one of his estate development companies, Lekki Gardens Limited.
In the suit filed through their counsel, Advocate Law Practice, before the Lagos State High Court, the plaintiffs accused Nyong and his firm of “violating the layout of the Horizon Premier-1 Estate in Lekki by converting the children playground and an area reserved for recreation and greening to commercial use, without regard for comfort, safety and security of the estate residents.”
The homeowners also alleged that “rather than complete the estate and deliver it to subscribers, the developer had focused more on the commercial structure which has since commenced operations while basic facilities such as potable water are still lacking in the estate.”
