A 26-year-old man, Oni Aro, who allegedly burgled a lecture theatre at the College of Health Science, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has been dragged before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Ile Ife.

According to the prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Osanyintuyi, the accused committed the offence on November 2, 2018 around 4.30am.

Osanyintuyi said the accused stole one Samsung laptop, one Infinix Hot 5 phone, a purse, a notebook, a lamp, a cardigan, one bag, one calculator and one electricity extension box.

The prosecutor said all the items stolen by the accused belong to one Kemisola Olasunkanmi.

He added that the items were valued at N133,500, adding that the offence contravened sections 383 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun State, 2002.

Though the magistrate, Lekan Ijiyode, admitted the accused to bail, he was, however, unable to perfect the bail and he was returned to the prison.

Ijiyode committed Aro to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties, who must swear to affidavit of means and reside within the court’s jurisdiction.

Ijiyode subsequently adjourned the case till Wednesday, January 2, 2019 for hearing.
