A Sokoto Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday sentenced, a 20-year-old labourer Ana’s Muhammad, to seven months in prison for stealing two drums, a digger and a shovel, belonging to his neighbours.
Chief Magistrate Abubakar Adamu, sentenced Muhammad, without an option of fine, after he pleaded guilty to one count of stealing.
Earlier, police prosecutor, Insp Awaisu Mohammed, told the court that the convict stole the items from his neighbours Sanusi Bello and Abdulmalik Sani.
The prosecutor said that the complainants reported the case on November 20 at Ungwan Rogo Police Station, Sokoto.
He said that the offence contravened Section 288 of the Penal Code.
