The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, has described the Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Adepele Ojo, as god-fearing and an icon of “unquestionable pedigree for her fair, objective and unbiased conduct of the judicial process since her ascension to office.”
The monarch made the commendation in a statement on Tuesday in Osogbo shortly after the swearing-in of Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
Oba Akanbi said Justice Ojo was one of the few chief justices “who judge objectively, helping the people to ensure justice prevail, irrespective of their social, political and economic status.”
The monarch said Ojo’s way of life was a template for everyone aspiring to be great in life, saying he hoped to see many of her type rise to the zenith of their profession.
The statement quoted the Oluwo as saying the humility demonstrated by the CJ at Oyetola’s inauguration was an indication of the blessing the state had, calling on all jurists to borrow a lead from Ojo’s comportment and composure.
The monarch said, “I’ve known Justice Adepele Ojo for years. She is a benefactor of the poor. She is never drunk with power. She designed Osun judiciary such that it is the hope of the common man. I’m proud of her.
“Under the watch of Ojo, the Osun State judiciary is objective, fair and unbiased. The judicial process in this state gives hope to the hopeless. I give the credit to the chief judge. She is a round peg in a round hole. She deserves to be awarded.”
The monarch further described Ojo as an amazon of merit who could be compared with the only female Ooni in history, Luwo Gbagida.
