| Criminal justice law in Plateau State to tackle killings |
All criminal suspects involved in the serial killings in Plateau State will be tried in Jos as Governor Simon Lalong, on Tuesday, signed into law the Administration of Criminal Justice Law 2018.
The governor expressed optimism that the decision “has put an end to the transfer of criminal suspects to Abuja for prosecution.”
According to him, the ACJL has “reinforced the framework for the effective prosecution of criminal cases in the state (Jos).”
Plateau State had been turned into a killing field in what had been described as an alleged genocide perpetrated by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
The Plateau State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Yakubu Dati, said Lalong expressed the optimism during the signing into law of three bills at the Government House in Rayfield, Jos.
