Suspect arraigned for kidnapping three men |
A 26-year-old man, Solomon Ojo, has been arraigned before an Ebute-Meta Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly kidnapping three men.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Ojo appeared on two counts of conspiracy and kidnapping, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Maria Dauda, said the accused committed the offences on September 5 on Irepodun Street, Igando, Lagos.
She alleged that Ojo kidnapped one Osahan Obazee, 22; Augustine Ekwegbudu, 27; and Fadugbagbe Akindele, 29. The offence reportedly contravened sections 2 and 3 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2017.
The Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Salawu, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum. The case was adjourned till October 11 for mention.
In another development, a 29-year-old woman, Cecilia Adejoh, on Friday appeared before a Gudu Upper Area Court in Abuja for allegedly stealing a mobile phone.
The police prosecutor, Mr Theophilus Chukwuma, told the court that one Lawani John, reported the matter at the Garki Police Station on August 26.
Chukwuma alleged that the complainant met Adejoh on August 25 at Rita Lori Hotel, Garki, where she agreed to follow John to his home.
“While at his place, she made away with his Techno H7 phone, valued at N48,000,’’ Chukwuma said.
