Commandant/Provost in charge of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps’ College of Security Management in Ogun State, Rachael Awosusi, has warned members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria to shun bribery and sharp practices.
She gave the warning on Wednesday when the state Commandant of the VGN, Adedoyin Nureni, led its officials on a visit to the college at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
She said, “The role of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria cannot be underated in the fight against crime. You have been very helpful in combating crime and criminal activities.
“The VGN members know the terrain and the people around. You have been very helpful in doing the good work.”
“But I want say, don’t allow anybody to buy you. Your members must do away with bribery and other sharp practices. As for us, I want to tell you, nobody can buy us and our conscience.”
Earlier in his address, Nureni had said 200 members of the VGN would undergo training at the NSCDC College as part of efforts to prepare the outfit for security challenges in 2018 and beyond.
