
It was learnt that the nominees are to replace the vacancies on the court’s bench caused by death, elevation to the Supreme Court and retirement.
The list has a priority list and a reserved list of 14 names each.
On the priority list are Justices P. A. Mahmoud, (Benue State); F. Ojo, (Kwara State); I. G. Abundaga (Nasarawa State); M. B. Idris (Niger); Justice A. M. Talba (Adamawa); Kadi M. M. Alkali (Adamawa); A. I. Adenyangtso (Taraba); A. S. Umar (Kebbi); O. Z. Senchi (Kebbi); A. M. Lamido (Sokoto), B. B. Aliyu (Zamfara), E. Tobi, (Delta) and G.O. Kolawole (Osun).
Those on the reserved list, comprising names of those who would serve as replacement for any last minute dropping of the name of any of those on the priority list are Justices O. Itodo (Benue), M. A. Abdul Gafar (Kwara), D. D. Adeck (Nasarawa), D. G. Mann (Plateau), D. G. Goji (Adamawa), U. B. Umar (Adamawa), and Y. A. Bashir (Taraba). Others are Z. B. Abubakar (Kebbi); I. M. Sani, (Kaduna); F. L. Adamu (Kano); I. B. Ahmed (Katsina); M. Yu ftsha’u (Zamfara); P. O. Affen (Bayelsa) and O. A. Ipaye (Osun).
