The Ebonyi State Government, Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has directed that the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Augustine Nwankwagu, be relieved of his appointment with immediate effect.
In a 3-paragraph statement issued in Abakaliki, the state capital on Thursday and signed by the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Mr Clement Nweke, said that the former attorney general was relieved of his appointment over acts that were inconsistent with his official duties.
Nweke said, “Nwankwagu’s conduct was found to be inconsistent with his position as a public servant.”
The statement further directs the former Commissioner for Justice to hand over all government property in his possession to the permanent secretary/solicitor general ministry of Justice before the close of work on Thursday (today).
