Presiding judge of the Federal High Court in FCT, Abuja has given a judicial backing to the executive order of President Muhammadu Buhari, outlawing the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its activities illegal.

Justice Abdu Kafarati, the Acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court granted the order proscribing IPOB on Wednesday.

The Federal High Court declared that the activities of IPOB in Nigeria, particularly in the South-East or South-South regions, henceforth, constituted “an act of terrorism.”

All these proceeding took place in the inner chamber of the court; the judge did not sit in the open court.

The court heard and granted the ex parte motion filed by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), in Ministry of Justice.
